Tips on dog ownership and raising puppies, from the Australian Veterinary Association and RSPCA
Dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes and ages who are looking for homes are available for you to meet at the animal shelter at Taren Point. If you’re thinking of an addition to the family, consider giving one of these homeless animals a loving new home, and in doing so make space for another animal who needs shelter.
Adopted animals can be the most loyal and loving pets. Search by animal type, and meet some of the adorable animals looking for new homes.
The NSW Pet Registry is a database of microchipped and registered cats and dogs that live in NSW. This is the official database in NSW for registering your animal, and cat owners can easily create an online profile to help ensure they are reunited with their pet if it becomes lost.
The Shelter is operated in partnership with the City of Sydney and houses dogs and cats that have been found stray or abandoned or have been seized. If animals cannot be returned to their owners, the shelter seeks new homes for them. Dogs and cats may also be surrendered to the shelter but only under specific circumstances, and by prior arrangement.
